About the Item
New Orleans artist Allison Stewart has gained national recognition for her paintings expressing the complex and disturbing dialogue between man and nature. Trained as a biologist, Stewart is inspired by increasingly fragile environments and the ultimate interconnectedness of all living things. She uses layers of color, light, form and texture to address issues of beauty and loss, time and transformation. Residing somewhere between realism and abstraction, the paintings become visual diaries upon which Stewart records her responses to the threatened landscape.

Beyond the Cerulean Skies - Large Original Blue Lake Water Seascape Artwork
By Peter Kuttner
Located in Los Angeles, CA
The organic aesthetic and textures of Peter Kuttner’s original boho minimalist artworks are the result of patient layering and original uses of media. Through a combination of paint and collage, Kuttner is able to find personal expression in the clear colors and contrasting soft textures he creates. With a focus on subtle textures, Kuttner separately creates the colorful detailed top layers of each artwork in a separate process. Each of these applied mini paintings within the larger composition is a unique cutout of paint created with a flow of colors on an intermediary glass surface.
This one-of-a-kind mixed media painting measures 28 inches high by 58 inches wide. It is wired and ready to hang. It is signed by the artist on the front and back. The sides of this artwork are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Kuttner uses familiar yet abstract details to suspend the viewer in contemplation of the universality of imagery. Using negative shapes, repetition, and emphasizing spatial relationships, he carefully considers scale and balance. Works in this series are meant to be contemporary, clean, sophisticated, colorful, uplifting, soothing, and filled with positive vibrations.
Kuttner’s artworks have been featured in Architectural Digest Magazine as well as in popular films and television shows including Two and a Half Men, Californication, and Nashville. Presently, Kuttner’s work is on display in a large number of private, royal, museum, and corporate collections worldwide.
Artplex Gallery has been representing and exhibiting Kuttner's original artworks since 2021. The gallery has been a 1stdibs partner since 2014 with consistently excellent reviews from clients worldwide. The gallery exhibits a well-curated selection of original artworks representing a broad spectrum of major international artists. Artplex Gallery is known to provide accurate descriptions, images, reliable services, communication, and delivery.

Sublime 2154 - Original Urban Landscape Photographic Collage Artwork
By Tae Ho Kang
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Inspired by the artists of the Modern Art era, including Post-Impressionist Paul Cezanne, Kang visualizes the modern day search for identity in an age where information and images permeate every aspect of contemporary life. His architectural urban scenes are flattened, with everything pressed against the surface of the artwork. At times, multiple views of the same houses are visible, trees and bushes are vaguely alluded to, and the color palette finds a hectic balance. Just as a city operates in a balance of chaos and the sublime, so do the artworks of Kang.
The Sublime is a euphoria that affects the deep recesses of one’s consciousness. As is this experience of the sublime, Kang's work is largely abstract. This large colorful artwork is 39 inches high by 59 inches wide. The sides of this textured, original mixed-media artwork are painted and it does not require framing. It is hand-signed and dated by the artist on front left corner. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable U.S. and worldwide shipping also available. Provenance: Artspace Warehouse. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Tae Ho Kang was born in Seoul, Korea in 1945. He studied at the College of Arts of Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea. He later moved to California to study Fine Art at California State University, where he graduated in 1980. Since then, his artworks have focused on the never-ending quest for home and belonging in a dense urban landscape.
About his mixed media artworks, he remarks: “One day, when I was traveling, I was impressed by the beautiful scenery of the city under the sky, with many straight lines, curved lines, and harmonies of different colors, which seemed to be a magnificent orchestral performance. The beauty of this urban landscape gave me a deep impression and great change began to take place in my work. I wanted to be a molecule in this huge space. I have to find a house of my heart to be molecule. Where is the house I live in? What is my identity? This question has begun to arise. I am on a long journey to find my own house.”
His mixed media collage artworks have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions as well as international art fairs throughout the US and in Korea. Kang's work has also been featured in Television and Film productions, including Criminal Minds, NCIS Los Angeles, Unforgettable, The Mindy Project, The Great Indoors, and American Housewife. His artworks have been exhibited and acquired by private collectors around the world.

Reliquary (for Gigi) (abstract, bright colors, layers, encaustic, vessel)
By Liz Rundorff Smith
Located in New York, NY
mixed media on paper
23.25 x 19.25 inches framed
Rundorff Smith deals with central shapes that she develops by referencing urns, shrines, burial mounds and places of veneration. As a current resident of South Carolina, she associates cemeteries, particularly locations in the South, as spiritual spaces of veneration. Her paintings are reliquaries for memories. Urns are vessels to hold ashes while also acknowledging life—what we mourn and what we celebrate.
In the exhibition at SEFA Hudson, Rundorff Smith presents the latest in her series entitled “Trophy.” These small scale encaustic paintings are hung in a grid that mirrors the geometric patterns within each piece. The artist works in layers by melting and combining pigmented wax to create a literal history on the materials’ surface, while simultaneously implying the personal story that each vessel is meant to hold. Rendered in colored wax from sky blue to bright pink to vibrant yellow—a rectangular pattern blankets many of the paintings.
This patternation references the constructions of Rundorff Smith’s father, a builder. Thus, the “Trophy” paintings...
