The paint dances with motion, each stroke working in quiet collaboration to create a surface that feels alive and sweeping. You can almost hear the wind skim across these colour-fields, stretching back toward a far horizon that blurs into thought.
There is a rhythm to the layout, a kind of spatial pacing that gives the canvas extraordinary depth. The sky is a force in itself: heavily worked with greys, whites, and cloud-blues that build into texture-rich formations. On the left, the sky breathes in calm hues—open, serene—while to the right, darker tones gather with weight and movement, suggesting weather, or perhaps just emotional weather.
“Forever Roam” is a landscape of longing, but not sadness. Its textures evoke memory and place, but in a way that feels always on the move. The piece is rich in tactility and atmosphere—each layer a note in a symphony of open terrain and approaching storm.
Artist Bio:
Alison Johnson lives in Warwickshire and works from her Studio based at Fargo, Coventry. Alison’s work is driven by the desire to display atmosphere and emotion of a place. Through art she expresses feelings that are often inexpressible through words. Her interest in nature and non materialistic beauty has been a constant source of passion since childhood, be it relationships between people, the struggles of life and the ever changing but constant landscape around. Fueled by a previous career in nursing, Alison aims to combine these emotions. Since studying art Alison has exhibited across the UK including Brighton, London, Chester, Wales, Yorkshire, and various Galleries in the Midlands. Her work has also reached international scale with work hanging in Italy, America, France, and the Middle East. She has completed various commissions with clients such as the Prince of Saudi Arabia and The Waldorf Hotel London. Inspiration is driven from travel, feeling and seeing wild and raw coastlines, to bleak and smoldering moors. Music and emotion are also translated through a visionary vehicle.
