A group of people enjoys a warm summer day at the Balearic Sea in Cassis, France. Some lounge on the sandy beach while others swim in the clear turquoise water. The figures are depicted in various poses, capturing the relaxed and vibrant atmosphere of the beach. It is a perfect activity before enjoying a lunch of cold seafood salads and spritz.
About the Artist
Artist Jonelle Summerfield takes an impressionistic approach to romantic street scenes and corners inspired by her extensive travels across North America and Europe. Using her photographs as a reference, Jonelle conveys the mood and feeling of each location in her work. "I can only paint from life or my photos because I need to feel the energy and other sensory aspects of a place in addition to the visual," says Jonelle. She initially gravitated toward fashion and design over fine art. Jonelle received her degree in Interior Design in 2001, after which her mother began teaching her to paint. It changed her life. Over the next ten years, Jonelle trained and painted extensively to become a full-time artist. Being a night owl, Jonelle prefers to begin her painting sessions in the afternoon, often accompanied by music in her studio in a former theater building shared with other artists and businesses. Outside her art, Jonelle enjoys spending time with her cats, writing her blog, and staying active with kickboxing.

"When you are a child, sometimes all you need is a puddle," says artist Onelio Marrero. He paints two young kids joyfully playing in a puddle after a day of being confined indoors due to the rain. He captures the fun and excitement of splashing around. The little girl frolics in full motion while her brother stares transfixed at his reflection.
About the Artist
Artist Onelio Marrero paints impressionist city scenes of everyday life. He captures the romanticism of New York City, from the picturesque fountains in Central Park to a glistening city street on a rainy afternoon. He creates a sense of nostalgia and intimacy with his work, offering the feeling that you have visited this particular scene before. “Each play of light, each texture, and each movement of a figure can have a captivating effect on me,†says Onelio. He studied at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art where he mastered discerning color and values, giving his work a more spontaneous appearance. Onelio’s work is an appreciation for beauty in all of its greatest forms; nature, art, and people.
