About the Item
Abstract piece on canvas.
About the Artist:
Sylvie Perrin graduated from the National Fine Arts Academy of Lyon. She began her artistic career in the Netherlands as an illustrator. She then worked in Paris, before becoming established in Lyon, her home town. She has enjoyed a career that allowed her to express her multifaceted creativity in a variety of mediums: sculpting, painting, illustration and graphic design.
She has developed a technique of collage inspired by and composed from posters which she discovers on the walls of the city of Lyon, or during her travels. These weather-worn materials marked by rain and sun, constitutes her basic palette of colors and typefaces. She then reimagines them, giving them a second life.
Decomposed, then recomposed, these resolutely urban forms become dynamic compositions. Her use of a special transparent resin finish on each piece glorifies these discarded raw materials, and illuminates them. She memorializes each collage with the name of the street or district of the city where she encountered the materials that inspired its creation. In other works, using the same technique of collage, she manipulates and reimagines a melange of old photos from magazines with a combination of illustration and Photoshop techniques.

A827 - Large Oversized Original Blue Abstract Artwork on Canvas Ready to Hang
By Marco Schmidli
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Swiss born artist Marco Schmidli creates minimalist paintings with a contemporary edge. Placing emphasis on process, he lets the mediums naturally manifest within his artwork. “An important aspect of my artwork is the removal of my own artistic hand. Instead of controlling and demanding the paint move and act a certain way, I let the paint naturally manifest and express its pure form/ true colors/ most natural movement.” Schmidli's work is known for its sensitive surfaces and subtle textures. He has developed specialized techniques for applying and layering color, giving depth to his paintings.

Low Yellow Moon (diptych) - Cubist Abstract Original Artwork
By Heny Steinberg
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Mexican artist Heny Steinberg’s abstracted landscapes invite us to travel from the map to the localized event. The shapes within Steinberg’s work transcend two dimensional representation and have meaning beyond visual appearance. Her process begins with concrete images and references, yet over time give way to her process. Her abstractions fluctuate between representation and abstraction of variables.. Her works are reminiscent of American Abstract Expressionists like Helen Frankenthaler but also have a clear Mexican Cubist...

Words that describe this piece:outsider, intuitive, blue, monochrome, dynamic, action, flamenco, movement
Artist Biography:
Mark A. Lembo Script M Abstract Art Mark’s dynamic work blurs the distinction between alcohol ink and watercolor - working with dyes, inks, liquid acrylic, liquid watercolor, and other aqueous media; lately, he has been incorporating metallic watercolor and pearlescent ink to his work. He has used canvas, synthetic Yupo™ paper, Yasutomo Mineral Paper, and various watercolor papers. Mark’s journey into the world of creative arts started with the question, “What would Jackson Pollock’s work look like if he had used transparent watercolors?” So, it was out with the pencils, pens, and brushes, and on to the pouring of various aqueous solutions. While mostly self-taught, Mark took a series of classes at the Creative Arts Group, Sierra Madre, CA, under Joe Stoddard, as well as seminars with Robert...
