Emmanuel Ojebola
Medicine in Art

2023

About the Item

Emmanuel made this work as a source of hope for those who have health issues, not to lose hope, They’re not alone so far they’re waking up every day they still have a chance to do great things. It serves as therapy for them. In the realm where science meets imagination, an extraordinary fusion unfolds – the harmonious blend of medicine and art. Beyond the confines of laboratories and clinics, a canvas becomes a stage for a unique symphony, where healing and creativity dance hand in hand. Art, with its vibrant strokes and intricate details, has the power to transcend the boundaries of illness. It becomes a therapeutic sanctuary for those navigating the labyrinth of health challenges, offering solace and an avenue for self-expression. As colors blend and forms take shape, emotions find their voice, echoing the unspoken struggles and triumphant stories of those who confront diseases like cancer and sickle cell anemia. Within each brushstroke, there's a whisper of hope, a reminder that even in the face of adversity, a second chance at vibrancy exists. The canvas becomes a mirror of the indomitable human spirit, reflecting the determination to not be defined by health conditions. Just as art blooms in its season of goodness, so does the resilience of individuals who dare to believe in their capacity to overcome. Yet, "Medicine in Art" is not solely about the art itself. It's an invitation to witness the profound connection between art and empathy. It's a call to action for the world to rally around those fighting their health battles, to offer unwavering support and love. The brushstrokes symbolize the love that persists, even when circumstances prove unkind. For some, the journey might culminate sooner than expected, leaving ambitions unfulfilled, but the canvas remains a testament to their courage, their dreams, and the lives they touched. In every stroke, there's a prescription for resilience, a remedy for the soul, and a testament to the endurance of the human spirit. "Medicine in Art" invites us to reimagine healing, to acknowledge that art can be a balm for wounds unseen. So, let this convergence of creativity and healing remind us that amidst the chaos of diagnosis and treatment, there's still room for beauty, hope, and the extraordinary power of the human heart. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity About Artist Emmanuel Ojebola was born in southwest Nigeria Eruwa Oyo state in the late 90s. He had his secondary education in the Baptist model High school Sango Eruwa where he developed his interest in the art using the course of his junior secondary school education. His interest in art came from learning from his then-creative art teacher (Mr. Segun Adesope) before proceeding to improve his art skills at the Ibarapa Polytechnic Eruwa. He loves to work with mixed media but mainly with coffee, acrylic, and oil. His passion for African black women and children with the childhood care he got from his mother during his childhood days is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. He believes women are Virgo and sees them as gods here on Earth. He sees himself as a creator who uses his coffee to create human figures with depth and meaningful art pieces. Emmanuel Ojebola now practices as a full-time studio artist with a well-known and talented artist Oluwole Omofemi. And he sees the likes of Cesar Santos, Eddie Filer, and Oluwole Omofemi as inspirational figures. He sees his art as a part of him and a way for him to express the way he sees the world and its beauty.
