About the Item

American abstract painter David Skillicorn sees painting as pure celebration. Based in New York and Massachusetts, Skillicorn has dazzled clients with his luminous abstract artworks for more than 25 years. He explores complex spatial and color relationships through texture, organic lines, and luscious fields of color. In mixed media works on canvas, Skillicorn creates sophisticated, intuitive paintings alive with surface texture, lush paint of vibrant colors in bold strokes over atmospheric passages. Skillicorn’s paintings breathe elegance, calm, joy, and exquisite beauty. Skillicorn has pursued his passion, and for the past twenty years has been drawn to abstract painting because for him it is the most challenging, the most mysterious, and ultimately, the most magical. His work has been featured in Art New England, Artscope Magazine, Preview Magazine, The Woven Tale Press, Studio Visit Magazine, and many other publications. He is represented in premiere galleries throughout the country and his paintings are part of innumerable public and private collections, including Johns Hopkins, Regent Hotels, Chase Bank, Temple University, and many others.

Lee Herring focuses his contemporary paintings on vibrant, textured, and abstract landscapes that convey fleeting moments. Herring's energetic artworks are inspired by everyday moments and memories as he captures these ephemeral spaces within the context of a spontaneous, dream-like landscape. Size and price include the frame. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping. A Certificate of Authenticity issued by the gallery is included. Lee Herring was born in Sunderland, in northeast England. After excelling in art throughout his early education, he went on to study Fine Art at the University of Chester where he developed his painting style. Herring graduated with 1st class honors and was awarded the University Prize for his work. Years of dedication to his creative practice have cultivated Herring’s current multimedia style. Each of Herring’s paintings evolves through a spontaneous process. The conventional paintbrush is abandoned as Herring employs layers of impasto pastel hues in acrylic, markers, neon spray paint, and a glaze of varnish with pallet knives, trowels, and scrapers. The physicality of his work is evident in the visceral nature of his paintings. Sell-out shows and professional collaborations characterize Herring's international presence as his style constantly develops. His artworks are displayed and represented internationally with a strong following of investors, collectors, and reputable galleries. Metallic Precision Cut Currencies Butterflies Flocking Target Illusions Ablaze
By Charles Patrick
Located in Greenwich, CT
This work is sourced directly from the artist. Butterflies cut from International Currency and gold foil, arranged in the shape of a target, and pinned with stainless steel entomology pins to canvas. Framed in a white, wooden frame. About Charles Patrick Charles Patrick is best known for his intricately cut paper butterflies, suspended like museum specimens on individual entomology pins and clustered together to form icons, logos, and symbols against the backdrop of pristine canvases. Living in a world between the paper and digital ages, these works conjure feelings of nostalgia for the tactility of paper, created from vintage comic books, children’s books, currency, maps, and other obsolete ephemera. This stands in jarring contrast to the clean, pixelated designs that the butterflies form which exchange individual emotion for the universal immediacy of today’s contemporary visual language. Targets, hearts, ohms, and stars pop from the canvas in three-dimension - a fresh departure from the flat screens that are the norm today. With a background in vintage poster restoration, illustration, and printmaking, Charles Patrick combines his love of paper, art history, and design to create works that are both strikingly beautiful and poignantly thought-provoking. Charles lives and works between Cos Cob...
