In the tranquil solitude of my travels to Antigua, I embarked on a journey that was as much internal as it was external. Immersed in the vibrant culture and the natural beauty of the island, I found myself in a profound dialogue with the environment, particularly during a snorkeling expedition on my final day. As I drifted through the clear waters, I encountered a cobalt fish whose vivid, almost otherworldly hues captured my imagination. This fleeting yet profound moment became the catalyst for the "Azul Reverie" collection. The artworks in this series are a meditation on depth, both literal and metaphorical. Each piece is meticulously layered to evoke the intricate complexity of our inner landscapes. The deep, saturated blues are not just a visual echo of the ocean, but also a reflection of the emotional and spiritual depths we navigate within ourselves. The addition of each layer of color represents the gradual accumulation of experiences, emotions, and insights, culminating in a profound internal beauty that is often only revealed with time and introspection. The final layer of each piece is finished with a high-gloss resin, traditionally used in boat construction, to mimic the reflective surface of water. This technique not only enhances the visual impact but also serves as a metaphor for the elusive, ever-changing nature of self-discovery. Just as water reflects and distorts what lies beneath, the resin layer invites viewers to engage with the work from different angles, revealing new dimensions and nuances.
"Azul Reverie" is more than a collection; it is an exploration of the soul’s journey, inspired by the boundless beauty of the sea and the mysteries it conceals. It is an invitation to dive deep, to uncover hidden layers, and to discover the transformative power of color and reflection for individuals to break free from their own emotional constraints and embrace a life of freedom and self-expression."

Addison Jones is a world class photographer and mixed media artist. Jones photography has won multiple global awards for her photojournalism. Each of her pieces are original works. Addison is known for layering her own photographs into complex street art and modern art while using the written word as a subtle texture feature. She utilizes silver and gold leaf, acrylics, and custom paints, including color changing, to add layers upon layers as she goes. In the end culminating in a piece that is viewed as a complex whole.

Addison Jones is a world-class photographer and mixed-media artist based in the Midwest.
