An Enlightening Afternoon Near Oregonia - Watercolor Landscape on Paper
A cool pond and walking trail sprawl below an autumn canopy of trees in complementary reds and purples accented with brilliant yellows and negative space. Charcoal lines lead the viewer's eyes through the artwork. In verso, the artist writes, "To my friend Martale (sp?), Thanks for a pleasant and enlightening afternoon, Sheila Bronser, June 7, 1964, near Oregonia."
Signature, "S.M. Bonser," in bottom right corner. Presented in a new soft white mat with foam core backing.

Sheila Bonser (American, b. 1934) is an Ohio-based artist, who specializes in mixed media compositions, printmaking, watercolors, and oils. She received a double Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Painting and Printmaking from Wright State University, and throughout her career has been featured in numerous exhibitions. Some of the many institutions that have collected and exhibited her work include the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Wooster Art Museum, the Dayton Art Institute, and Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center, among others.
Bonser draws on experiences spent in Ohio, on the west coast of Florida, and in Louisiana. In August 2005, Bonser's studio and all the work therein was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. She returned to the Ohio Valley in the winter of 2006 and resumed making art.
