French School 19th Century, Scenes from parisian life, three drawings signed

circa 1870

About the Item

French School of the 19th Century Scenes of the parisian life, three drawings each one signed with the initials LV Pencil on paper Sizes of the drawings : 4.8 x 8 cm 4 x 6.5 cm 4.8 x 6 cm Framed : 26 x 36.5 cm The author of these lively little drawings, who signed them with his initials LV, has not yet been identified. The subjects and execution are reminiscent of the work of Constantin Guys (1802-1892). They were probably made at the same time and in the same artistic environment. In any case, he had a remarkable command of the line: the strokes are very quick, but also evocative of the life of Parisian society with its horses and carriages.
