About the Item
Twentieth Century Landscape with Nude - Cecilia in the grounds of a Villa at Lake Orta in Italy. Original Signed Watercolour of one of his most favourite Models.
I have long since been a fan of William Russell Flint's watercolours, he is a master of the "economical" touch and in particular his landscapes can be sublime!
This painting seems to me to be a perfect blend of landscape and model, whilst the model Cecilia, whom he described as "his perfect beauty", takes centre stage, it is not one of his more overt compositions! In fact the Villa shares surroundings share centre stage and it is beautifully handled with a lovely sombre palette. The painting is signed lower left and signed, titled and dated verso - Lake Orta 1957.
Watercolour 20 by 24 inches, Mounted and Framed ( 30 by 34 inches).
