Goyard bags are considered luxury for a couple of reasons. First, the celebrated French fashion house works solely with sumptuous, costly materials like the proprietary water-resistant fabric Goyardine, which consists of fine natural fibers such as hemp, linen and cotton. All Goyard wallets, shoulder bags, totes and other goods are entirely handmade, a painstaking process that can take up to a few months per item. In addition, there is an exclusivity factor. Goyard produces only a limited number of bags each year, and demand for them is very high. This has a considerable effect on the price of these very durable and desirable accessories.
