George II Mahogany Dumbwaiter

About the Item

This very nice Georgian dumbwaiter has excellent old color and patina. The bold yet simple feet ending in sharp points and the deep and well-turned urn and ring decorative upright support exemplifies the classical timeless and desirable nature of fine English Georgian furniture. The three shelves independently rotate for service or display and have a nice deep dishing with a fine rim lip to prevent items from slipping off. Dumb waiters were designed to hold plates, desserts, wines permitting parties to continue after servants were dismissed thus the name given.
